We firmly believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to learn about nature whilst getting up close with some awesome animals. Our aim is to show people how they can help our wildlife, even in their own backyard! Our workshops are perfect for people that may have a disability, socially isolated or suffering anxiety. We offer a fun, friendly and safe environment where groups are kept to a maximum of 10 participants.
Run over 7 weeks, with full wheelchair access, participants will get to learn about some really cool animal facts while getting involved in some hands on activities! We encourage participants support workers to attend, however, if you don’t have one, that’s okay as we have peer mentors to assist everyone on the day.
- Visual PowerPoint Presentation
- A chance to meet our feathery and scaly friends
- Interactive building/craft activity – participants get creative in a group setting. Each week will have different activities.
7 Week Program
This program offers participants to come along and learn about a range of animals. Each week we focus on only one species. The delivery of this program has been designed so we can highlight the species of the week and explore in detail all the amazing things about them. It allows participants to centre their focus, retain information and reduce confusion. This format has been embraced by many of our participants and results have shown to be very successful.
Participants joining this program will attend 1 x 2 hour session each week for 7 weeks. Group sizes are kept to a maximum of 10 participants allowing for a more personal and up close experience. This also provides opportunities for participants to make connections and build friendships with other like minded people. We understand that coming into a new environment with new people can be a little daunting, so we have ensured that our workshops are a warm, fun, friendly and welcoming environment that everyone will enjoy.
